Turn Drinkers into Donors: Part Two

This tip for turning drinkers into donors goes hand-in-hand with part one. During the reception, serve appetizers. Most events start in the early evening which is hours removed from lunch and still a solid hour from dinner. If you have ever consumed alcohol on an empty belly, you know it hits you harder.

The goal by serving food is to provide a cushion to slow down the absorption rate of alcohol. Also, when people are busy eating they drink at a slower rate. Having a food base and drinking at a slower rate helps to control your audience. It will also help with your bar bill!

When providing appetizers, make sure they fit your catering budget. Remember, expensive does not mean they are the best choice. Simple appetizers such as fruit, cheese and dips are an affordable and popular choice.
